How to over come temptation?

Though i'm a christian. I lack in overcoming temptation which leads me to do sins. I'm being close to GOD n praise him always, but when some thing bad(sin accoring to 10 commanments) is about to happen i just close my eyes and turn away from him. I dont know what the hell is happening to me at that time. Help me overcome this sinfull
