Are Christmas Crackers a waste of money?

I know they are supposed to be traditional, but I find you only get plastic toys out of them which are of no use, and stupid paper hats and they can be expensive, do you bother with crackers at Christmas?

Well, they are fun for a little while, aren't they?? I don't get them, as it wasn't a tradition when & where I grew up, but I always thought, to each his/her own!
