Their not because they don't have one. They see the whole world tripping over themselves offering Iran incentives not to build a bomb. So they just want to enter the equation and hoped to get the same deal.

Very good question!! The "Older Generation" know the perils of the Nuclear Bomb! I spent a very long time in the Army, and the "potential" enemy at that time was the USSR The USA had a VAST arsenal of Atomic Weapons, the UK had its own small arsenal, and the Soviets had their HUGE arsenal of Atomic weapons! After years of the "Arms Race" we had a situation whereby it was VERY Dangerous!! There were the "SALT" talks (Strategic Atomic Weapons Limitation Talks) to limit the amount of NUKES each country had! This became what was called MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction) what a wonderful name MAD !!! Because that is what is was MAD.... Bloody Stupid more like! So the answer to your question why:- My answer is the same WHY? Is it safe to have it?? Anybody remember Chernobyl? My wife does!!! She lived not far from it! For years no-one would eat mushrooms, or any organic grown vegetable!! Is it safe??? Remember Hiroshima????? Well I guess this whole race itself is very bad. Truly speaking if we have a war this point of timethan all the nations will be gone. It will be the end of the world. Almost the end. Well Now regarding the discussion its not at all safe. A small error will cause its fatal effects years after that. The country does become super power but along with it it makes more powerful enemies.
