What is the point of telling someone they shouldnt do it?

you know id like to know why we even bother to tell someone they shoulnt do somthing when we know good and well thell do it any ways,so why do we do it?

i guess we do because we have the hope that they will listen...atleast we know we tried...

You can still tell them not to do it and tell them your reasoning behind saying not to do it and hope they listen

I think it's because we're hoping that they will "for Once" take the advice...even if you've told someone that before and they didn't listen, there's no guarantee they WON'T listen next time...i think it's the basic instinct not to give up on someone, so we just keep telling them in the hopes that one day they will have matured enough to listen.
