PROBLEMS WITH YAHOO

I would like to know if this happened to someone else. Some time ago i tried to register at yahoo, but they kept on saying that the ID or password I introduced were already taken. This is rather strange as I have an uncommon surname. Anyway I tried to log in with this ID and password and they always said they were invalid!! As it was not important, I gave up. Today I tried again because now I need to have a Yahoo account for a group I will run, but I could not do anything. They keep on saying they already have these names registered. I tried other name or numbers, but I always get the same answer; ID or password taken and, if i log in with these names, they say they are invalid. I think it's very strange. Did someone have the same problem??

I suggest you try the forgot password function with the login name you want. If it says none exists then Yahoo is incorrect and it should be available so email them. If it exists it will just send an email to the owner. No harm done. If it is taken be sure to check back. They recycle names periodically. Good luck.

there might be one reason..its possible that you are entering the encrypted security code properly..suppose if u have chosen a unique username and enter the code incorrectly it will bring you back to the sign up page and this time even if you put it in correctly this time it will not accept the username saying it exists...another suggestion--normally when yahoo tells you that a particular username is taken it also gives u a few options to choose from ...if you are not very choosy abt yuor usename u can accept any one of the options given to you by yahoo.. hope this helps...

Thats a common thing, so calm down and try with numbers after your name, say your phone number, mobile phone number or your year of birth. Sometimes you have to use numbers as there may be many people with the same name and yahoo is a big name, used in all countries so its common for you to get this message.Don't waste time logging in with alreaady used id as you don't know their password, only the person who owns the id can log in with the password set.

There are some problem with yahoo server from last couple of days. And as the latest news they are fixing the problem on their server. You are not alone dear i was not even able to login to my yahoo messenger account. The better solution for this is to wait for some more days.

Its a common thing. Its far better than rediff though!!! Once, I lost all my contacts email ids!!! Believe it!!! I deleted one contact from the contact list and the entire stuff got deleted! :(

It's hard to come up with a name on yahoo that has no already been taken...it always takes me awhile to come up with something. Yahoo has A LOT of users so I wouldn't be surprised that there is someone else out there with the same name as you. I think the first responder gave a good suggestion...add numbers at the end of the name...it should work eventually. Good luck

TKS FOR ANSWER. I ALREADY TRIED ADDING NUMBER TO MY SURNAME. NO WAY. I CHANGE PASSWORD ADDING OTHER NUMBERS. NO WAY. THA'T WHY I THINK IT'S RATHER STRANGE.

it only means that somebody is already using that ID and that you should try something else. i even tried before to use my full name and it said that somebody's using it already and i kept thinking that who has the exact full name?! but the only thing we should remember is that yahoo has been around for ages and that they have zillions of subscribers around the world so the likelihood of someone already using the ID that you want is very high. try incorporating numbers and symbols into it.

Yes, I agree with the previous answers. Its very hard to come up with new names that aren't already taken. I think I went thru like 4 before I found one to use! lol, good luck though getting on!

I had that problem too a few times. It is maddening. I finally either made a new account or just added numbers to what I had. Anyway it worked.

Hey Its a Common thing. Take it easy. Yahoo is in all parts if the world.the name similar to you may be in thousands in world. so, you may not get your perfect name Id. YOu should try with the Numbers in the end (like 2006,2323, 888, 8888,)you can also use the sign underscore(_). between your name look at my user name a good example for you ndraj_2006. you should Register in like these form.

yes!!there is a problem with you.while registering you are making a mistake.when you choose a name and you find its always there go for a different name but PLEASE PUT THE SAME PASSWORD IN EVERY REGISTRATION.for eg-if you tried out sunny..you found it has already been taken by somebody else...then try with sunny2434365 you find it abailable..this time you dont chage the password which you applied for sunny at first..give the same password.try this out and it will surely work for you.all the best.PLAESE DONT CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD IN EVERY ATTEMPT TO GET REGISTERED.PUT THE SAME PASSWORD IN EVERY ATTEMPT.

I can't imagine why you would think that this is unusual? There are approximately 25 BILLION!!!! YES BILLION, different user names on yahoo. If you don't add a bunch of number after your name, then it won't work. Have you tried using the option that says "check if the ID is available"? Not only will that tell you if the name is taken, but it will also give some names you can use that ARE available. Regardless of what your surname is, I guarantee, that someone, somewhere has it. Yahoo is not a US thing, but WORLD WIDE. I would say almost every country in the world is connected to yahoo. If it didn't let you make the ID, then why would you try logging in with it? It will always say Invalid, because it's someone elses name, and you don't have access to it.

Keep trying. If you really want to use your name try adding a number to it. This should work.

Yahoo has millions of members. so this is pretty much common. Just keep altering one or two characters until a name finally works.
