I am Indonesian, and i have been several times in Malaysia and Singapore. Malaysia very welcome to me. Maybe because most of malaysian are the same race as me. in Singapore, the city is really incredible clean and beautiful. But they are a bit selfish and don't care to others. I think i prefer Malaysia, if i am to choose where I live in the future. What about you guys?

I prefer Singapore because when we went to Malaysia it was very hard to communicate. Majority of the people in Singapore can speak and understand most of the english words while people in Malaysia may know how to speak and understand but not very much like the ones in Singapore. English is the universal language and I believe it is very important that is why I think Singapore is better.

AND you'll be surprised to see how some of the locals cant even speak their mother tounge language. As for you yourself, can you speak your mother tounge language very well? English is a universal language, but i dont think one should use less of their mother tounge language that it becomes forgotten and disgraced.
Anyway, i think if i go to Philipines i would have even more difficult time communicating and finding people who can speak english well on the street.

And yeah, finally, to tell you the truth, Philipines is one of the last countries i ever waned to visit on earth. Yeah, that, me being completely honest. I'm sorry if i offended you, i'm just telling the truth. I apologize again if you are offended.

I like the food in malaysia. the people there are also less snobbish but some can quite like frogs living in a well. if you know what i mean! the tourist spots in malaysia are also very nice. and it is cheap there.
singapore is very well organized. the crime rate is low and cost of living is very high compared to malaysia.
i choose to live in singapore because i think it is safer than malaysia. my parents live in malaysia and the area they live in has a high crime rate! day light robbery is quite common and the police is not doing much about. it is really not very safe there. i wish they will move to singapore when it is safer and help (if needed) can be rendered faster.

Why must you fight with Singapore?. Isn't Singapore has been helping Malaysia a lot?. A lot of Singaporean flock malaysia over the weekend and spent thousand of ringgit there. Doesn't it help in increasing Malaysia economic?. We are neighbours, why must we fight. I dont know about you, I personally think that neighbour should have good relation with each other. Perhaps you have a bad experience here. Btw, do you ever visit Singapore, Ut?

dropkk, i agree with you, it is a great place. What I don't like is their people and their attitude. They tend to take things personal when their political leaders disagree over something whether with Singapore, Philipines, Thailand, US and others. Why must they be too sentiments over all those what political leader had to say. If it really affect them, I can understand, but sometime it all over trivial matter that doesn't affect the citizen at all, just for their political boost only.:(

I've never been to Singapore before but I heard it's very clean there. Love to go there one day. I'm from Malaysia by the way.

Yes. It indeed is very clean. All due to hard work of the cleaners and regulation by the government

Oh it is so difficult to choose. I loved Kuala Lumpur and the car ride down to Malacca with the lush jungle. And the food would out of this world. As for Singapore, being an island and much smaller there were few wonders of nature to see. Had a great time on the Chinese junk as we sailed around the island. However, I found Singapore much more cosmopolitan than Kuala Lumpur. Gotta add, however, I visited them both 30 years ago and I am sure that many, many things have changed.

I supposed this discussion should be prohibited. As this would cause more intensity between Malaysia and Singapore. LOL. :D
If i were from none of these countries, then, it would be pretty hard to choose. I love Singapore for its development, but then again i don't really like to live in a too chaotic city. They seem like a very nice place to live in though. And there are less craps like burning other countries' flags or something like that. And the non-pay tv/radio channels they have are just superb and creative! It's non-pay but it's hella good!
As for Malaysia, it is also rapidly growing and developing too. Its growth is much faster than some other countries in South East Asia. The people are nicer and more down to earth. They are much more outstanding in sports compared to Singapore. At some points they are more laid back, but sometimes they love jumping into conclusion about things. But they are very concerned about helping out some other countries that needed help. Kudos!

I would prefer to live in malaysia..been to both countries.stayed there for a few month, and i fell in love with malaysia..everything is cheap, people are nice..
in singapore a lot of people are snob but you feel safe there but the cost of living is very high so what singaporeans do is work all the time for them to keep up with their daily expenses.

long live Malaysia!!! haha, in terms of scenery, the people, and the food, we are definitely eons ahead of Singapore! we have great food, everyone has great PR(not everyone is able to communicate well in English, but, generally, us locals have a good enough grasp of the English language the Brits bestowed upon us to direct you in the proper direction), and the most beautiful beaches you could ever fathom!( RE: The East Coast) sure, Singaporeans may have a higher standard of living, but i just love it in Malaysia! my singaporean cousins agree as well, they try and stay for as long as possible during the hols, as they just cant get enough of this great nation! the melting pot of different races, religions and creeds, thats what Malaysia is all about. to get a warm smile, regardless of who you are, just say this phrase to any local...Malaysia Boleh! (pronounced bollehh, translated as Malaysia can do it!!)

I like singapore more than malaysia.I think it has a more diverse clture than malaysia. The people there are also very friendly.Only that the life there is so fast that no one has time for anyone else.I go there a lot because many of my relatives have settled there. In future if I have to settle in any of the two places I will definitely choose Singapore because then My children can also learn my mother tongue ie. Tamil(It being one of the official languages of singapore). That is one of the reasons, not the only reason.

i guess, it'll have to be singapore. i've been to both places for short vacations. i like to feel safe, so i guess i'd have to go with singapore. singaporeans, like most cosmopolites, are a bit on the self-centred side and too law-abiding. not that i have any problem with that, because i've been an urbanite for too long...
