Christmas or Christmas Day is an annual holiday that marks the traditional birthdate of Jesus of Nazareth. Christmas combines the celebration of Jesus' birth with various secular traditions and customs, many of which were influenced by ancient winter festivals such as Yule[1] and Saturnalia. Christmas traditions include Nativity scenes and Christmas trees, the exchange of gifts and cards, and the arrival of Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. Popular Christmas themes include the promotion of goodwill, giving, compassion, and quality family time.
Christmas is traditionally on December 25. It is preceded by Christmas Eve and in some countries is followed by Boxing Day. Some Eastern Orthodox Churches celebrate Christmas on January 7, which corresponds to December 25 of the Julian calendar. These dates are merely traditional and neither is thought to be the actual birthdate of Jesus.[2]
Christmas is celebrated in most countries around the world, owing to the spread of Christianity and Western culture, mixed with the enduring popularity of existing winter celebrations. Various local and regional Christmas traditions are still practiced, despite the widespread influence of American and British Christmas motifs disseminated by film, popular literature, television, and other media.

christmas means food to me
2 1/2 cups Original Bisquick mix
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup mashed cooked sweet potato
1/2 cup milk
1. Heat oven to 450°F. Stir all ingredients until soft dough forms.
2. Place dough on surface sprinkled with Bisquick mix; roll in Bisquick mix to coat. Shape into a ball; knead 3 or 4 times. Roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut with 2 1/2-inch round cutter dipped in Bisquick mix. Place with edges touching on ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft) Heat oven to 475°F. Decrease butter to 1/4 cup. Bake about 15 minutes.

well my family doesn't really celebrate christmas but the holidays are a really special time for us because we get to spend a lot of time together and make up for a lot of time we lost over the year we're a really close family we just don't get to see each other often and christmas is the perfect time for that.

It means that it is another day on the calendar in the month of December. I don't celebrate anything on that day.

What does Christmas mean to me? Well, with having two children. It means just the joy in there eyes to see the lights, decorations and of course opening presents on Christmas morning.
As a young child, Christmas wasn't getting tons of gifts, or a fancy tree. It was going to my grandparents and being around family. But after losing my brother just 2 months before December eight years ago, it also brings saddness. We should also think about families that this day brings saddness for they don't know how they are going to give there kids a decent Christmas this year. Well, that's about it for me.

When I was a kid, i am excited when BER months enter because there's a christmas countdown already, and i can easily feel the warmth coming of the holiday season through the decorations, malling, carols...and the merry-making...
Right now, I don't feel the same way as before though i still have the excitement (lesser already) for my kids...maybe because of lack of money...I can already feel the BIG difference when you're pocket is full and not.
Sadly as i am at times, the inner part of me is still partying because I got my family intact and though, money-less...life has still to go. Besides, I am blessed with unmaterialistic kids...

Christmas used to mean getting presents and hanging out with my cousins. Now it is just a plain same old day. It is also extremely bored too because my parents would just watch TV all day since all the malls are closed. I would probably just stay online and post something on mylot. I would like Christmas to mean more, but I'm a kind of person that is too lazy to put in the effort.

To me, Christmas means family coming together. I love the time that I get to spend with the people I love. While presents and large meals are nice to have at this time of year, I really could be perfectly happy with just having all of my extended family together at one place.

Christmas is a time for giving and receiving. I'm not just going to be giving and not receiving anything, that's crazy! I love all the Christmas time shows and a couple songs. It just brings out the joy in me.

Christmas was a special time that everybody should always remember because this was the time when our Jesus Christ was born. Sharing love, gifts, and giving forgiveness to everyone was the real meaning of christmas...Without, your christmas maybe not complete or maybe not enjoyable.

christmas for me is a symbol of peace. yes, it's a moment of fun and enjoyment. but the deeper reason why we celebrate it is for peace. i live my everyday life as if it's christmas all year long. i don't focus on the 25th of december and mark it as christmas day. it's good to have peace in my heart everyday of my life. december 25 is a special day for most of us. the funny thing is that... war stops awhile during the christmas season and resumes after. i can't find the real thought of it. if we could only have christmas in our hearts everyday, everyday could have been a better day for everybody.

Christmas to me is spending quality time and fun with my family, the joy of giving presents, eating loads and drinking loads and using Christmas as the excuse. Watching too much television, playing board and card games. Having mums great Christmas dinner! It doesn't have the same affect as it did when I was a child. To me its an anti-climax, all the build up, for just two days, it is very commercialized, although I'm not religious, Christmas has lot the true meaning.

Family time, giving gifts, and visiting. We are not very religious, so we celebrate more family than anything else.

I love Christmas because it brings the family together and the kids are always so cute as they open up their presents. I love seeing their faces light up!
