I wish you people would call it soccer, there are 4 diferent types of footbal played in my country, be specific. Aussie rules is my favorite then cricket the rest i only watch if there isnt anything else on.

It's call football because foot is the only real aspect the ball touches beyond goalies. Would you prefer it be called 'hand-ball'? It'd make much more sense in line with the few other 'footballs'.

Just makes it hard to distinguish what we are talking about. We call them Ausie rules ,leaue , union , soccer. Noone gets confused about what we are talkng about. Its even easier to type soccer than it is to type football.
