I heard the news today that you had gone away,
but nowhere else to roam for God had called you home.
I remember the last time I talked to you on that night so long ago,
but foolish pride kept me from saying what I wanted you to know.
If I had told you how much I loved you would it had changed the course
of fate?
I ask myself that sometimes even though it is too late.
We parted forever on that night, I guess it was meant to be
we can change so many things, but not our destiny.
I often think about you and it makes me want to cry,
the fact you never knew I loved you and I never got to say goodbye.

my lifetime favourite
Sonnet 29
by William Shakespeare
When, in disgrace with Fortune and men's eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featured like him, like him with friends possessed,
Desiring this man's art and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least;
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee, and then my state
(Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth) sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings.

My first ever poem I wrote
There you are you scallywag,
Looking no less than a hag,
You chew to your stomach’s content.
And make us curse to our heart’s content.
You fight your battle with all your might,
But lose also by pure spite.
You call your comrades for a feast
And then have a marathon in heaps
One on the cupboard, one on the chair
You sure make standing hair
You’ll make the parlours lose their jobs
And the pest control to have more jobs
You are foul
You make us howl
You give us plague
We give you stake
You find cats
We find nibbled hats
You have a family and look after them all
But not in my hall!

A philosophical poem I wrote
Standing on a shore
Staring I question more
Why the wind blows and goes
But never lingers or hovers
The waves leap and drown
While shells lay thrown
The living ones eager
To get back into the water
A helpless fish now lies
In the mouth of a bird which flies
The sweet scent of the ocean
Now lays at par of those gone
Life is a mystery
But suddenly it can be history
Even without learning
The reason why one is living

I love poems and enjoy writing them, here is one of my fav ...
FALLING IN LOVE…
You know you are in Love…
When you see yourself smiling all day unconsciously….
When things you disliked, starts getting your appreciations….
When you wait for the first ray of sun to see him again….
When you start taking hour to dress up and get ready….
When you keep looking at the phone at intervals, to hear his voice….
When you say you don’t mind him talking with other girls but actually boils inside at heart when he does….
When your heart skips a beat when he touches you by mistake…
When picking an outfit for a jog takes hours….
When you keep looking into the mirror for long hours….
When you heart rate increases as stands next to you….
When you cannot stop talking to him on phone for hours….
When you start eating food you never liked before, with him….
When you get up in middle of the night, dreaming of him….
When you feel that life is so perfect and that you are walking in the clouds….
When you would not mind to go an extra mile for him….
Love is when you realize that....
You want to spend the rest of your life caring for him….
You want to be near him no matter what….
You want to share both your happiness and worries with him….
You want to be the mother for his children…
AND WHEN YOU WOULD NOT MIND WALKING AROUND THE WORLD BESIDE HIM, WITH HIS STRONG ARMS AROUND YOU….

The Best Place In the World
The best place in the world,
Is when I’m in your arms..
When I wish that time would stop
And we could stay like this forever!
Makes me feel so safe and content with life,
As I rest on your shoulder with no pain or strife
You hug me tight and hold me so close,
Your breath on my neck tingles my toes.
I snuggle up to you and smile within,
There’s nothing more that I want to do.
The best place in the world..
Is when I’m in your arms!!
Wrote this for my hubby. See more of my poems at http://exoticworldofpoetry.blogspot.com/

The Improvement
by John Ashbery
Is that where it happens?
Only yesterday when I came back, I had this
diaphanous disaffection for this room, for spaces,
for the whole sky and whatever lies beyond.
I felt the eggplant, then the rhubarb.
Nothing seems strong enough for
this life to manage, that sees beyond
into particles forming some kind of entity—
so we get dressed kindly, crazy at the moment.
A life of afterwords begins.
We never live long enough in our lives
to know what today is like.
Shards, smiling beaches,
abandon us somehow even as we converse with them.
And the leopard is transparent, like iced tea.
I wake up, my face pressed
in the dewy mess of a dream. It mattered,
because of the dream, and because dreams are by nature sad
even when there's a lot of exclaiming and beating
as there was in this one. I want the openness
of the dream turned inside out, exploded
into pieces of meaning by its own unasked questions,
beyond the calculations of heaven. Then the larkspur
would don its own disproportionate weight,
and trees return to the starting gate.
See, our lips bend.

I love writing poems too. this hasd been so far my best yet. Hope you find the humour in it.
Hold Your Head High
Hold your head high for slaughter
Because in this world there is no laughter
Celebrities say you need to be hard working
When it come to achieving
But all you end up doing is flunking
You are always looking for a better tomorrow
When you are lonely, depressed and hollow
But you need to realize that your luck
Is as horrible as muck
So at least hope you won’t get run over by a truck
Keep pointy, venomous things at a distance
But have fun by getting drunk for instance
So play on the Net and watch T.V. all day
And forever to God don’t pray
‘Coz this unfair life is here to stay
