If talking about the size and memory capacity, cds are up for snap! but when looking for cheaper ones, go for floppies and diskettes, quite useful for word files and smile size files. Cds nowadays are rampant and diskettes or floppy disk are starting to be rare and phased out. But the both are still useful and i mind using diskette still.

i would definitely prefer cd.. as it has more storage capacity when compared with floppy drives.. and its easy to carry and you can also make a copy of the cd..

I dont like floppy at all.No matter of which company is it.Actually i think that it have lacking of some features. They are following:-
1.The data access speed from floppy to memory is less when compared with cd.The data in the floppy drive have not been send to memory at much speed, due to above lackings.
2.The floppy drive is somewhat more effected by keeping it unusable for some time.I have feel that i lost my whole data in the floppy and am unable to access them if i dont use them for some time.
3.The storage capacity of floppy is very poor.normal music file in these days have much size than two floppy. So who will use these?
4.The costing factor, this will also influence us when purchasing it from store.I think for the price of one floppy i can purchase two cds..Due to the above mentioned lackings now i really avoiding it to use very often for my jobs.

I prefer Compact Disc (CD) is an optical disc used to store digital data, originally developed for storing digital audio. The CD, introduced in 1982, remains the standard physical medium for commercial audio recordings as of 2006. An audio compact disc consists of one or more stereo tracks stored using 16-bit PCM coding at a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz. Standard compact discs have a diameter of 120 mm or 80 mm. The 120 mm discs can hold approximately 80 minutes of audio. The 80 mm discs, sometimes used for CD singles, hold approximately 20 minutes of audio. Compact disc technology was later adapted for use as a data storage device, known as a CD-ROM, and to include record-once and re-writable media (CD-R and CD-RW). CD-ROMs and CD-Rs remain widely used technologies in the personal-computer industry as of 2006. The CD and its extensions have been extremely successful: in 2004, the annual worldwide sales of CD-Audio, CD-ROM, and CD-R reached about 30 billion discs.

I haven't used a floppy disk or anything like that in ages. I kind of just forgot all about it. Now I use a USB Flash drive, but I use a SD card with it. I like using a SD card because it is so small, can hold 2GB of data, and I can use it in my camera and in my Nintendo Wii. You can't do this with a normal disc, so that it is why I like the SD cards.
