For me it has to be vampires. You must admit it would be handy to walk among men and go unnoticed. Also Lycans have powers only around the full moon for the rest they are powerless. Vampires seem the more logical choice, if anything of this discuccion can be called logical :)

I definitly choose lycans. Check my photo and tell me if you guess why everybody calls me the wolf :P. I like to hide on the dark, and I feel myself transformed in something that others don't understand, that's why they reject me.

I have read many books about Lycans and Vampires.
But if I have to chose between the two, I would choose a Carpathian. :)
A Carpathian is a vampire but with a difference.
A vampire to a Carpathian is a soulless Carpathian. One that turned to the evil side because that one did not find their one true lifemate.
A male Carpathian looses all sense of color and emotions when he turns a certain age...into the thousands of years...and unless he finds his one true lifemate, he is doomed to become a vampire. This is because the only time that Carpathian would feel is when he killed. That feeling of a rush is better than nothing. So they turn evil searching for that feeling and loose the balance to the world.
But if a true lifemate is found, she brings color and feeling back to his world, helping him to see and feel keeps him from being consumed by the dark side.
And once two lifemates are bound together, one would never hurt, betray, or lie to the other. One would die for the other's protection. And they can talk to each other with thoughts.
Pretty cool if you ask me!!!
I choose a Carpathian.
If you want to read those books...it is the Dark Series by Christine Feehan. :)
Very very good!

I would wish to be the offspring of a Vampire and Lycan, unique and with the strengths of each. Seems the deal to choose if it is available. if only could be picked then I would have to choose vampirism.

Its quite hard to choose though, but of course every species have their own unique entities and Lycan is a great creature, strong in a sense though rough and wild when they are in their animal form. But for me I would choose vampire. Vampires are naturally beautiful, possess unbearable strength. Even though unable to walk in daytime, I still find it enchanting.

I have to tell you, Astarte, I love your avatar. That's amazing artwork! By vampires and lycans, I assume you're referring to one of my all-time favourite films, Underworld. I've seen it a dozen times and am still not tired of it, but, I digress . . .
To answer your question, I would choose vampire, only because the werewolves, or lycans, don't seem to be in complete control of themselves and that kind of scares me--it's almost like giving in to some sort of unholy intoxicant, which, I suppose, isn't all bad. *evil grin*
