Its the most ancient martial art in the world. One of the last surviving Indian systems of martial arts that survive from ancient times, and which may have influenced Kung Fu (when the Indian Buddhist monk Bodhidharma took it to China's Shaolin Temple and tought the monks there), is Kalaripayattu - which is the Indian equivalent of Shaolin Kung Fu. Yet it is in need of a popular revival like eastern martial arts, after being outlawed by the British, who feared its power, much like how Chinese officials who burnt the Shaolin temple almost destroyed that art. Here is a short video demonstation from YouTube, which dosent take long to load: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJB8Qfz4NoM And here is a documentary torrent, which is still seeded, for those who are interested further: http://must2share.com/713233 Martial arts need a revival in India, so go out and learn them, and make films with them in. For those of you who know about eastern martial arts, and Yoga, you will know that Yogic concepts like Kundalini and Prana are still used - but are called different names (i.e. Prana is Chi in China and Qi in Japan). That is the link that the martial arts of asia still share.
