Explaination about computers

I am a computer engineer by professional. My brother is five years old. One day he asked me expalin what is software. Please give me some tips such that I can explain him software in easiest way.

You could tell him that a computer is a dumb thing. It can't do anything without getting orders or instruction. So a software contains many instruction to the computer on what it should do.

Well you can try giving examples. Like, imagine hardware as the factory, and software as the product, then we use the product. Or just say software is all we see in the monitor.
