What Makes a real difference between US english and UK english??

i dont understand what makes the real difference between US and UK english except the words used different for differnt objects... And i cant understand the real basis of the two english languages... If you have any idea post it for sure..

i think apart from the word and spelling differences there is not much of variation between the two versions of English.

Other than using "z" vs "s" or "o" vs "ou" a little differently... Not too awful much. The biggest difference I would say is in the slang.
