Why are people afraid of going to the dentist? are you? if so do you know why? I am very interested in understanding the psychology behing this, as peronsonally I have no fear of the dentist.

Cause they inflict pain on us and have a drill next to our ear that are constantly going, then they make us spit into a bowl, and they tell us they are only going to do one thing and end up doing more and then when we leave they give us no pain medication and expect us to go home make dinner for our family and not be in pain and then they overcharge us and dental insurance never covers everything that we have done and they want us to come back to them for more pain, do I need to explain more?? I hate the dentist

I used to be very fearful of dentists when I was a child. My parents had to drag me to the dentist for checkups! And I know exactly the reason for this fear...
When I was about 5 years old, our househelp had a dentist over at our house. It so happened that when I was going down the stairs, the dentist was about to inject our househelp with anaesthesia. I saw how long the injection was and I hurriedly went up to my room. I didn't go down until the dentist left! lol!
I'm getting over my fear of dentists though... haha
