Does anyone out there have an overweight child?

One of my daughters is as cute as a button, but her eating habits scare me. I have treated her the same as all my other children, but she just eats and eats. She is chubby and this is becoming frustrating for both of us. The doctor has not really given me any good ideas on how to delicately curb her constant wanting to eat. I usually ask her if she is truly hungry, or is she bored and needs something to do. I have caught her trying to sneak sweets and I feel like the sugar police, but I don't want her to ruin her health while she is so young. I have her involved in activities to keep her moving, but I think she would rather be lazy if given the choice. I do not want to cause her to go the other way and start restricting her diet, and I don't want to shoot holes in her self-esteem. Any ideas on what to do?

Our daughter is the opposite. She is a very picky eater and we can't find clothes that fit. They all fall off of her.

I would agree that that problem is hard to deal with too. My daughter is picky about a lot of the foods that are healthy for her. I have started a thing where she has to try a new fruit and a new vegetable a few times a week. For some reason, she started not liking the fruits and veggies she had eaten and liked before. Now all of a sudden, she won't eat them. Sooo frustrating!
