Does age really matters to have a girl friend

I have seen school kids having girl friends, is it good do they know what it is or it may just be a fashion in todays life.

i have seen teenagers nowadays having gf/bf at a very young age... for me, its not good to have a relationship as early as 14 because their minds are not mature enough to understand how it goes... but we cant blame them sometimes, because of the influence of the media
