What would you think of a 5 foot tall animal as an xmas gift?

I'm just curious. My aunt just sent my kids a 5 foot tall (12 lb) giraffe for xmas. I'm cracking up. They love it, but my husband hates that we have this huge thing in our house. My aunt had this notion that the animal would somehow double as furniture in our new place (which is lacking in furniture at the moment).
Anyway, is this something you'd like your family to give your kids for christmas?

I would never buy such a thing without first asking the parents lol. What a pain it would be to have it always taking up so much space! But when you think of how much the kids would love it...its kinda cruel not to get it for them haha!
