Lil' Wayne has no right to say that imo, i mean come on how are you gonna compare the likes of the classic 'Reasonable Doubt' and commericial classic 'Blueprint' with the likes of Wayne's 'Tha Carter' series of album and '400 Degreez' etc. There is just no touching 'Reasonable Doubt' lyrically or production wise, its up there with the likes of 'Illmatic' and 'Ready to Die'. Weezy jumps on every track he can possibly find, i mean there is the odd Weezy track i like like 'Receipt' and 'Something You Forgot' but mainly all Wayne's raps are a bunch of punchlines, some that are weak as hell and don't even make sense example: 'Car-big, car-black, car-ter, can-i-stick-my, pencil in your sharpener?' I mean come on Wayne what the hell was that? That is corny as hell, compare that to Jay-z lines in songs from reasonable doubt 'Y'all n*ggaz don't want it, i got the godfather flow, the Don Juan DeMarco, swear to god don't get it f*cked up' WEezy aint touchin Jay in the game, hes a ten years deep verteran. Although i have to admit Jay has fallen off with Kingdom Come, that album was so bad and commericial i didn't even both listenin to it, i mean whats with his flow? We want the old Jay back, that was a half-a*sed effort to make a bit of money.

i agree but man kingdome come was not that bad if u take off show me what u got and hollywood and i think that track with usher but those are just to make money. tracks like do you want to ride and the prelude are great maybe im too biased and jay-z is my biggest influence but if you made yourself a copy of kingdom come minus the BS it would be a classic. he killed camron and dame all over the album like it was nothing

Lil Wayne is great, but he's definitely no Jay-Z.
Jay-Z has a certain "thing", Lil Wayne doesn't.
Personally, I prefer Lil Waynes music, but I realistically know that Jay-Z is, and always will be, a bigger name than him.

I personally couldn't disagree with you more. I think its Jay that's missing something. I'm a long time fan of Lil Wayne, I've loved his music for a long time. I'm constantly searchin for different mixtapes and undergrounds just to get a better feel of his flow. I believe that Weezy just keeps getting better with every song he makes. Jay on the other hand is getting worse. I personally loved his older music, but it just seems as time goes by he just keeps tryin and tryin to compete with the younger artists. Jay Z was amazing during his time, but it's the simple fact that his time is up. His new album is terrible and the guy needs to go back into retirement. He's made his spot in history, and now it's time for him to let others make take their spot.

In my opinion, they are both very good rappers. The only thing that makes Jay better is the fact that Jay started out at the top of his game. Wayne when he first came out he was pretty wack. But the game has now changed and I do beleive that this should be Jay's last album he did a good job with this one (as I said in your other discussion) at being mature and still hip-hop enough to bridge the different age groups of tthe rap/hiphop audience but I do not believe it will happen again. I personally am an older fan and I do not want to see any of them old folks on stage.

1) Totally different ball games
2) Wayne AKA Best Rapper Alive, listen to Jay's mixtape he put LIL WAYNE in his LIL PLACE
I love Jay and Wayne but hands down you gotta give that one to Jay. Remember it's not a business man, Jay IS the businessman, have it how you to Jay has the empire and Wayne is just the BIG KAHUNA aka THA STUNNAS FRONTMAN...I remeber when Flava Flav used to do that.

i dont think lil wayne said he was better than jay-z directly if your talking about his quote "best rapper alive" which isnt even his quote jay-z said that way before he did.and another thing lil wayne dedicated a whole mixtape (the suffix) to jay-z doin all of jay-z's beats and all that. not only that but Carter JR sounds ways familer Shawn Corey Carter aka Jay-Z I dont think that thats even going to far out of the way. Lil wayne respects jay-z so much that when nas made ether who hopped on the ether beat and said "nah man i fks with jay-z" if you can remember that. im not attacking you or your post im just trying to see if you where confused. i def know where ur comin from cuz its a way legit topic. my opinion is this and im way biased so take it how u want. Jay-Z is the best hip-hop artist of all time (people who disagree have not listened to songs that where not on the radio or TV) maybe people like rap more but i am a true hip-hop artist and a producer and i know way to much about these 2. if lil wayne did say this it must have been recently. i dont know if you ever heard about this either i think it was 2 years ago after the black album:Jay-Z,Nas,lil wayne and scarface all teamed up to stop 50 cent had planned a G u not concert tour around the nation i dont remember how far this got but those 4 all have mad respect for each other. Jay-Z is a diamond Lil wayne is a rapper diamonds last forever

Jay z was a beast when he was in his prime "reasonable doubt" now lil wayne is the face of hip hop...every freestyle he puts out is most of the time better than the song itself...Da drought 3 is his most recent mixtape cd and it is "tha truth"
