Gas pump to dollars - Gas is a growing thriving business
I think it is because it is a thriving economic investment and everyone wants a piece of the American Pie. See in this day and age very few of us walk or ride bikes anymore and most people drive vehicles, thus to own a gas station is a wise investment since more and more people drive and use gas. It is simple Supply and Demand!!

But why indians why not blacks, hispanics, japanese, whites, eskimos anybody. Just seems the numbers don't add up. I live in a very small north Georgia town with about 20 gas stations the last one not owned by an indian was purchaced by an indian couple a few months back. Just seems funny to me they make up such a small part of our population and own 100% of the gas stations.

Most of the times it is because it is something they learn from their families and friends. Just like why is it (I live here in Michigan) that all of the feild work is done by the hispanic?!? It is something they know and trust. A lot of other people do not want to work in a gas station let alone own one because of the high demand, smells, danger levels, etc.... The Indians do not see it as that they see that it is a thriving business that they can have others do the lion's share of the work (high school/college kids, single moms, ect...)and receive the rewards of business ownership. They start out (usually) by comming over here and getting a job at a gas station and they save their money and buy the place, it is a business venture that they decided to dominate. I had an Indian friend of mine tell mee that he came here intentially to own a store or gas station because it is "Good business", now he does have a gas station and he is loving it to hear him talk.
