i think your tree should reflect your own personality - if you like the old-fashioned way, then do it! or if you want something less expensive than the commercial decorations... i prefer the traditional look: real tree, beaded garland, small light, tons of ornaments which are mostly handmade or heirlooms passed down through the family... and an angel on top. That is our tree, and in my eyes -- there has never been one more beautiful. (Especially not one with all matching ornaments and no personal touch...)
