What do you do to relax?

I’m a little stressed out and would love to hear what other people do to take it down a notch or two. Me myself, I’m a bathtub girl, candles, bubbles and all. There’s just something about taking a nice long soak to kind of soften the mood and soothe the soul. I was thinking maybe meditation ( how do you meditate: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/437730.aspx ) what about breathing exercises? Well, I don’t know about that, I’ve been breathing all day and I’m still wound tighter than a rubber band!! LOL LOL LOL So, tell me how you find a way to relax?

I do the same every once in a while-a candle lit bath is nice!!! Sometimes I just sit back and work on a puzzle book or I browse E-Bay for things I would like and also things I cannot afford :). Online window shopping! I als o enjoy curling up under a warm blanket and watching a funny movie....I guess I am pretty basic person when it comes to this stuff. Nothing fancy :)

Nothing fancy is usally the most enjoyable for sure. What kind of funny movies do you like? I enjoy the birdcage, the producers (current not original), and Mrs. Doubtfire. Hmmm. weird connections there huh?

Funny movies are a good release from stress. I love movies like "Lost in Translation" or "Napoleon Dynamite." Sometimes it's just good to have a cry, too, by watching a really sad movie.

If you are on a budget or are allergic to perfumes, try just using plain old epsom salt. It tends to come in large packages (ie: bulk, meaning it's cost per use is lower) and won't flare up any allegries in those allergic to perfumes. It's also great for the skin. Don't have epsom salt? Regular table salt also does the trick? Out of that also? A cup of baking soda also makes a nice bathing experience.

breath deep.... in through nose, out through mouth...Know that there is always someone worse off than you no matter what the situation!
sometimes just being around people who make you laugh is enough to make you forget why you're stressed out. with deadlines- which stress me out most, i sit back and try to remember that the people who are demanding this deadline are not going to physically kill me if i don't make it (although they may be tempted!)

It should be noted there's two parts of the lungs. To get a really good breath use the whole lung. First pull out that belly (the diaphragm muscle) to get the lower lungs filled, then expand your ribs to fill the upper lungs. This results in a deeper breath. Careful the first few times you try this. Sometimes the rush of air makes some dizzy when they first start out.

I just close my eyes, listen to melodies! Thats it.. nothing can beat that! It just keeps you so so relaxed. And then , you automatically go to sleep! When you wake up, you feel fresh! rejuvinated! Music is the best way to relax. Amazing it is. A new research has revealed that carnatic music infact improves the intelligence quotient in people. I listen to all types of music though.

I read romance because I know it's a guaranteed happy ending.
I write because it takes my mind off things.
I go for a walk to help clear my head.
I go shopping (even just window shopping) because I like it :)
Last week I had a facial for the first time ever and from now on I will consider that to relax!

Nowadays, people are always very stressed for everyday life. It's not easy to relax, the time is never enough. But if you find the right way, it could be easier. I like to relax myself reading, watching TV, surfing on the net or simply sleeping. I think that aromatic candles with a hot bath are also a good way to relax, but it's not everyday routine. Breathing exercises also helps to take control of yourself, but they require a lot of training.

I do breathing everytime I experience the physical symptoms of stress or anxiety. When I do deep breathing, I inhale through the nose slowly, and I mean very slowly) counting from 1 to 10 feeling the air filling my inner body. After inhaling, I exhaling and count in the same phase when I exhaled from 1 to 10. Do this as often as you want until you feel that youre feeling light or comforted. I hope this will work for you.

I usually get to relax when I go to sleep.
Otherwise I'm usually busy with work.
