Recent studies suggest that brown-eyed people and those who are nearsighted or obese have a greater risk of developing cataracts, the leading cause of blindness. If you fall into any of those categories, be diligent about wearing sungalasses and a wide-brimmed hat when you're outdoors (exposure to sunlight also increases your risk) and get your eyes tested 2x a year to detect any possible problems.
