What do u do if u have to decide amongst ur parents n ur love?

My love is someone my parents wont like me to get married with...I dont wanna go against them but i love him so much....I dont knw how to handle this situation.. This is not my situation..its a friend of mine...I donno what to suggest!!! can u tell me?
