Is there any thing bad in Friendship of a boy with his lady staff

the thing is one of my friend had friendship with a lecturer. but the persons against my friend started comparing him with that staff. they hardly hurted him with some bad conversations. i suggsted him to break his friend ship and be cool. is there any other suggestion?
