I am O +ve, There are basically four blood groups we have. They are A,B, AB and O. This type of grouping is called ABO blood grouping or typing. Other typings are MNO typing and there is a special group called 'Bombay Group'! The blood group is decided by the prsence or absence of antigen A or antigen B ehich gives the name to a particular group. A group has A antigen, B group has B antigen , AB group has A and B both antigens and O has none. Without going into the details ,it is understood that same groups acn have blood mutully. Apart from that O is a group which can give blood to all other groups including itself and thats the reason its called universal Donor group.AB can recieve blood from all other groups incluing itself and that makes the group Universal recepient. The + ve or _ve sign indicates the Rh factor. and this factor has to be the same in the blood safe blood transfusion !
