When i saw this painting I thought it was an angel praying. To me it tells the story of how even angels or people we picture as perfect can face troubling times. I think it's neat how with every person, the picture will be viewed in a different way.

sad, upset girl hiding from the world.
when all she can see is darkness and problems around her.

The First Idea that came to me was Oya, the Cuban Godess of Storm (original from Yoruba people, from Nigeria). You can find some artistic interpretations in http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v208/anchasta/Orisha%20-%20Oya/?mediafilter=images and read a little about her in http://www.cubandanceacademy.com.au/publish/page.php?contentID=42&orishaID=7 but actually I don't agree with this perception so I will try to write mine. Oya is a warrior, the powers of nature united against injustice, the femenine force of survival and beauty.
