Ok, this is driving me nuts. People use the word polygamy wrong so often, that I need to publically make this distinction:
POLYGAMY - one husband, many wives
POLYAMOURY - many husbands for many wives
When discussing whether human relationships are naturally monogomous or not PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE use the correct word when you are stating your opinion.
That is all.

Polyamoury- thats an interesting concept. probably coined in the 60's by the flower children. should be fun.
Anybody for Polyamoury?

Well said, faelady! There is so much confusion about these terms, and that confusion leads to more confusion about people's life styles and life choices. Polyamoury means "many loves" and not just the love of "many women" for a singular male. Polyamourous relationships come in all shapes, sizes, colours, and numbers of people involved. :)
Thanks for spreading more awareness!

I'm surprised I didn't see this discussion before because it's something I would have responded to. People not getting the distinction between polyamoury and polygamy makes me angry too. I've been polyamorous (although I'm not now - I'm actually more single than any human ought to be), but I've never been polygamous nor do I believe in it. Polygamy just seems sexist because it's all about men and women have no role in it except to service men.
