Is Linux better than Widows?

I was thinking to install Linux but I don't know enything about it.Just waht I read on the forums made me think it might be a better system.Tell me what do you think.

no windows is best bcz many of softwares supported windows XP

Windows is the best. It is more user friendly than Linux. Security wise Linux is more used as server in big mnc. but in general Windows is best.
