Does anyone REALLY read all of the comments that are left on their discussion?

I am only asking this because I have seen a lot of discussions that had more than 100 responses and it just amazes me that someone would be interested in reading all of those responses!! I know and understand that you start a discussion to read/hear what other people think and/or feel, but doesn't it get boring after the first 50 that you have to read? And when do you decide to stop commenting on their comments? I think that it is awesome to see discussions that have that many responses to them, but I think that after a certain amount I would get bored with reading the same thing over and over?

yes, I do read everyone that leaves a comment one one of my discussions. I don't always leave a comment back to them, but I always read them. I just believe that if someone took their time to reply to a discussion I start, I should at least take the time to read them. I also take the time to rate their responses, if it's a good response, I rate them +, other responses, I don't rate. (so with me, it's a rating of + or nothing - I figure nothing is better than a bad rating)

That's cool!! I read mine too, but I have not been as lucky as some that get so many responses. I think the most the I have is 30+ on one discussion.

Yes, I always read all the posts on my discussions. Granted, I haven't had any with a huge amount of posts. But if I did, I still would read them all. I don't reply to everything, only if I have something to add to what they post.

I myself have not been one of the lucky ones to have too many comments to keep track of, so as of right now I respond to all of the comments made on my discussions. But I am sure that there will be a day where I will be left "speechless"! LoL!!

Yes, I do read every single post that's made to my discussions. The point of starting the discussion is to hopefully carry on a "conversation" with the posters, so it's necessary to read each and every one.

Very true, I completely agree with you. After all, that is the main point of this site, to start discussions so that you can converse about anything and everything under the sun!! The bonus is that you get paid for it!!

Actually I do. I read each and every comment that someone replies to on MY discussion. However, I am guilty of not reading through every message on other's discussions. That is only because if I see 250 answers already, I just want to my personal advice in as well instead of taking an hour to read everyone elses.

I've only posted a few topics and they've only had a few responses but I did read them all. To me it wouldn't matter how many responses I got I'd read them.

Cool to the both of you!!! And to leedug, I agree with you in that when I see a discussion with that many comments, I just say screw it and add my own opinion on it!! LoL!!

I stopped reading them all. I made the mistake of starting way too many discussions and I could not keep up with them all. So I read the more significant ones.

That is too funny!!! I wondered if that ever happens to anyone where you start to many discussions at once and then you get too many responses to be able to keep up with!!! Thank you for answering my question!!!

You just do what makes you happy. I am not fond of reading 100's either. Sometimes I skip over some of it. But, I do read a lot. I always try to get back to anyone that answered my posts. I check on them constantly. It's nice to get a discussion going.

Heck YA!!! I not only check my discussions, but the discussions that I have made comments to as well to see if anyone had made a comment below mine. I myself am not too fond of reading, so if I see a discussion that has a bunch of responses I just read the first page.

I sit and wait for the slow moving comments to crawl in!lol My few posts have limited comments but I do like to respond to the comments since they sometimes spark new ideas or thoughts

Ya, I have noticed that the majority of discussions don't have more than 20 responses. And you are right, when they are slow coming in they do give more ideas to other discussions!!

Yes, I spare time daily to visit the comments made by my friends on my topic started. Rate them. If required, I post comments also. Though the thoughts given by friends may differ, but I do not take is otherwise.

I can imagine that it is very hard to read all of the comments. I try to be very careful in what I write for a comment that way, like you, I also don't say the same thing over and over again.

I do. But I answer to them whenever this is possible. It's good for others to know that you thank them for putting themselves in trouble to answer a discussion you have started.

Yes I do read my comments. Sometimes I don't respond to all of them because some of them may have been similar to one I already responded to. Or I don't really know how to respond. But if people take time to comment my questions I am going to read it.

Ya, I have run into that myself where someone has left a comment and because I have already answered one that was similar I really am at a loss for what to say.

I read all of mine and even responde to them. The most I have ever had respond to any of my topics though is about 10. So for me it's not that hard. When there is a topic I want to respond to and it has a lot of pages, more then 5, I just read the first page or two then make my voice heard.

LoL!! That was funny. I am the same way. The most comments I have ever had on one of my discussions was 31. So for me it isn't that hard to respond to all of the comments left. And with responding to a discussion and I see that there are more than 50 responses I tend to read just the first page and then make my comment! At least I know that I am not the only one!! LoL!!

I think anyone who is actually starting discussions that truly interest them would take the time to read the responses. I'm sure there are many who don't bother but then they are most likely the ones abusing this forum to begin with. Sad but true.

It is VERY sad, but also VERY true. I don't know how many I responded to where there was no comment left on ANY of the comments...it made me feel like they really didn't care, that they didn't read any of them so there was no comment left. It just felt blank!!

I really love reading every comment that's on my discussions. :) It's just really interesting to see what people have to say. Maybe it's because I'm a psychology student and I'm just generally interested. :0

I am like you, I love psychology and this site really helps others let themselves go and be who they are. It also lets you know how many people think alike and see those "different" types of people. I find everyone interesting and this just helps me to observe them better!!
