How many of you agree with this statement-Friendship happens by itself like love and i needn't go in search of a friend?

I totally disagree. You may meet people and become acquainted with them effortlessly, but friendship and love do not just "happen". Good, solid, stable relationships, whether they are friendships or true love/romantic relationships, take a lot of work and effort to nurture and maintain. Trust, faith, and confidence in the other person needs to be built up over time. That is why the best friends you have are generally the ones that have been close to you for a period of time.
It's easy to feel lust and attraction for someone, and some people are a lot of fun to be with and do things with; but these people are not necessarily your true friends. They are probably just fun people that you hang around with. They are not the people who would be there for you if you were experiencing a life crisis and needed love, understanding, and support.
