Its an oldie but a goodie, Ive made over $150 this week on ebay selling stuff from around my house that I didnt want or need anymore, that is my sons old baby clotehs. I'm excited.
Now I am going to try (after the christmas break that is- who buys things off ebay at christmas time?!) and make it $250 profit a week. My sisters friend makes $2000 profit a month selling on ebay. Wow. Hopefully one day I can be as good as she is...

Sure, no problem. First off if you dont already have an ebay account you need to sign up for one. Its free and all you need is an email account.
Heres the link: www.ebay.com
Then you need to list your items under the "sell" feature of your account.
Take some good photos of them, know what you want to sell, then come back here and I'll help you with the rest of the process. I dont want to overwhelm you.

Wow $2000 per month selling on ebay...this is kinda inspiring. I'm making money online too (very part time income) by reading emails, playing games, surveys, etc. I have yet to try ebay, I guess I'm kinda nervous about dealing online. It's always the horror stories that stick in my head rather than the succesful ones...go figure.

some things sell well and others nothing. That is pretty good earnings.
I think ebay charge pretty high fees considering how many people use it I would think they would lower the pricing to help encourage more people to sell..

The fees are ridiculous, most people only sell higher priced items because of them. I'm not. Im selling quality childrens clothes (new and used) and low prices and making minimal profit per auction. Probably 1-2 dollars. But if I can do 100-200 auctions per week...which is what I'm trying to build up to....woah!

i didnt think Ebay fees were too bad... considering Amazon takes 15 percent from book sales... ebay is very reasonable, what is there take anyway? 5 percent? cant rememeber

I am thinking of selling on ebay after christmas, i have been buying on it for almost 3 years now, i've often thought about giving it a try, what are the average prices for selling something on there?, this is all thats putting me off, i have heard that it can be a lot, compared to what you get paid for some of the items, i do love ebay but if it cost me too much to sell , then i would probably not do it.

The fees are a little high, but I'm coming out well ahead so for me, its worth. Search for the items that you are thinking of selling and see what the average price is they are selling for. Minus a dollar or two in listing fees, and 5% of whatever your item sells for. Are you ahead? Is it worth it? I'm making approximately $1 to $10 profit on each item...

You dont even need a paypal account. All you need is a free ebay account. Register at www.ebay.com You can get paid directly into your bank account, via cheque, money order, cash on delivery- whatever you choose. I upload good quality photos I take using my digital camera and then describe the item in great detail before listing it, yes :D Hope that helps...

There are multiple sites in which to sell things online. Ebay is by far the most popular due to it's marketing budget but another one you might want to check out is CraigsList.com/. CL is amazing. They have plenty of different sections in which to post your items and one of the major things for me was that it is free to post you stuff there. You can also post locally and don't have to worry about shipping. All you have to do is select the city you live in on the right side and you're ready to go. They have everything there; jobs, housing, for sale, rants and raves, and services provided...ALL FREE LISTINGS. They have a section for bartering(trading) and even things people are giving away for free. You don't even need to set up an account.
Eveyone should seriously check it out.

Id like to do ebay but i dont have much of anything to sell. and it seems after you pay for shipping you dont make that much and there is so much competition. If I knew more about it and how it worked then id probably use it to sell crafts or something. Right now I make money doin data entry. http://www.webspawner.com/users/enterdataathome/

Usually you have a price for the item and shipping is seperate. like if someone bids on a book and it ends at 1.25 the buyer has to pay 1.25 PLUS however much shipping is

I have been selling on ebay for 5 years and it is NOT that great and I sell things around the house too. Tried selling clothes and no one much buys. Sold some DVD's and Video's, mostly do not sell and cannot afford the fees that rack up without sales. I usually do not even make my fees. It was great the first two years then it has gotten really hard, slow, to many other's selling the same thing and fees keep increasing. It has not been all that profitable. So not sure how your making the bucks but has not earned much for me. I think the most I made in one month was $314.00 before christmas one year.

Ive found childrens clothing sells exceptionally well. But thats just my experience. I'm still tallying up my total for this week. In profit it has to be over $200 now ( I had 15 more auctions end today). Maybe thats the difference. Ive done around 50 auctions this week to make that much money...

I had 60 auctions about two weeks ago only three items sold and did not even pay my fees which are $83.35 I got less than $20.00. I had nice things even some new never used. Few bidders, a lot of watchers. Some asking really stupid questions which I endevoured to answer anyway. Mostly they don't read. If they did they would see the answer. I tried to sell a whole lot of baby boy clothes, nice ones and got NADA. I have tried to sell good clean quality Jeans, Levi strauss nothing. I have tried to sell jewelry I had appraised and got bids but no one wants to pay the worth and I usually sell a bit under the appraisal value. I have tried to sell DVD's still in shrink, nada. I have sold things that were almost pure junk and was surprised they sold for so much. Go figure. I wish I could sell a cheese sandwich. LOL. Or find a record like the one that sold for $155,400 last week. The person paid 75 cents for it. I have tried to sell music boxes, CD's and nic nacs, some sell, most do not.
