for those who dont know wat tht saying means :
People in the same family are related by blood and "blood is thicker than water" says that family ("blood") relations are more important than relations with friends. Example: "When my best friend and my brother got in a fight I had to help my brother; blood is thicker than water." "Blood is thicker than water" compares the thickness of blood (family relationship) to the thickness of water (friendships) and says that our family relations are more important ("thicker") than all others. Example: "Friends will come and friends will go but your family is always there for you; blood is thicker than water." Family relations (blood) are more important (thicker) than other relations (water) so "blood is thicker than water."
but i find myself totally against this ideology... i feel freindship is much much better than any other relationship in this world.. do u agree or disagree... and pls explain

If seen scientifically, I think, blood is much denser than normal water. I cannot say of water, in which u have added something.
And if seen theoritically, blood and water cannot be compared. THey are the two sides of the same piece of coin, which cannot be compared, each completely different from the other.

it all depends on the relationship, I'd die for my father yet I have other relatives I wouldn't spit on if they were on fire. I have friends I reguard closer than some of my own family members and some friends I rarely ever see. so when it comes to family vs. friends it all depends on which family member and/or which friend.

this has been very old proverb.my own experience is also contrary to this saying,i have been helped by my friends most of the time in my life.while the so called blood relatives have not helped me much.I think love is thicker than blood.

Family loyalty is extremely important. So are friendships, so it is hard to make these choices and best to try to bring compromise to these situations.Sometimes you have to play the sympathy card and tell both that if they truly love you they will need to find a way to get along because they are both hurting you by fighting.

well i both agree and disagree to this statement.i mean its upon the level of closeness that you share, may it be with your family members or your friend.if you are more close to your friend then you will stick to your friend and vice versa.and if you are close to your family members then you will care about them more than your friends.so it varies from person to person, relation to relations.

blood is always thicker than water but presently this is going to be wrong because of mainly films but friendsip is forever so in now a days blood(friendship) is thicker than water(other relations).

no not all. if it is your wife/ husband girlfriend/boyfriend sometimes the water is thicker. but if it is against other family VS Freinds family ofcourse blood is thicker. it dpends upon the situation and sometimes it depends on whose side is right and whose side is wrong. but its too hard to not to be with your family side or fighting against your family.

I agree some, because, I would definatly side with my sister before my friend, but if my sister was totally wrong about something and my friend was right, I would try to make my sister see my friends point, I hate conflict, so I would try to solve the problem without taking sides.

i completely agree with this statement. From my past experiences (which i won't share here) i have come to realize that at the end of the day, it is blood relation that counts more than friends specially in my country i.e. India. Here family is given the utmost importance.

I don't completely agree with this I believe if your friend was right and your brother was wrong the friend would be the one I would side with . I have had many friends that have treated me better than my family has ..enough said
