It is widely known that you dont want strangers to get your name. With your name and state they can find your phone number, address and all sorts of stuff about you. Its just not safe. Where I love my name... I dont want anyone bugging me or messing with my family....

Amusing question, actually Tisha Best is part of my real name, The reason why I didn't give my full name is so you won't come knocking at my door LOL!

Why would I? A 'user-name' isn't a real name. It's a name you're known as within the world of the internet.

The greatest majority of internet forum users give out a lot of information about themselves, often not intentionally at all but simply because they are part of a forum and say little things here and there about themselves. Some smart person could put all that together and if they have your real name, it would not be too hard for them to get your address, phone number etc.
Most people tend to prefer a username because that it just who we are when on the internet and we do value our privacy. Also not all internet users are honest people, sad as that fact might be it is the truth.
Good luck to anyone who wants to use their own name but I am not one of those people, so no way will I give out my real name. :)

This is my real name, not ashamed of it and not scared of anybody finding out more about me, unlike some of the people who have responded to this. If you're afraid to use your real name, that means you have something unpleasant to hide.

I just don't want you to know my name. If you know my name you could recognise me at a public function. But now that you do not know my name I am safe

I use this name for almost everything so I figured I'd just continue the trend.
