The Smartest Animal I reckon are Dolphins
They amaze me and I love them also it is said that they help Humans a lot in different ways
I love how they swim and how they jump out of the Water and back in
But I believe they are the smartest aparently they also sense Danger miles away

TV said the bees and a bird first. Hard to figure, isn't it?

Sometimes I question humans. All these other animals learn our ways, but, we don't learn their ways. I don't think they get enough credit for their intelligence. Rats, pigs, ants, birds, cats, dolphins, whales, elephants, are all highly intelligent.

Yeah you just can't say the smartest animal.. Every animal is smart in some way or the other. You know, scientists say: if a pig had thumbs n a language it could be trained to do simple manual labour. They'd give you 20 to 30years of loyal service( n at their retirement you could eat them :-)

It is imposible to tell, since we have limited technology.
The blue whale has a brain larger than any other creature on Earth.Dolphins and porpoises can recognize their own reflections, and are said to have the equivalent intelligence of a second-grader.However, how do we measure intelligence?
There are many ways to rate intelligence.
Also, do we have the correct means to measure intelligence?
No.
However, here is my list.
Primates,Whales, Dolphins, Elephants, Cats, Dogs (some are dumb, so that's why dogs is sixth), certain species of parrot, and then the lab rat.

You are correct in a lot of what you say. I saw a broadcast many years ago, the bees were high up on the list, dolphins, horses, cats, then dogs. Thanks for answering my post.

I can't believe bees are that smart. Maybe it's because I don't like them? LOL. I know Parrots are smart. My 6 month old Grey is already talking! And don't elephants have the longest memory?

That's an interesting question. I don't really think it is a dog even though they are very loyal and I love them. I would lean more towards some of the pack animals like dolphins or whales (like killer whales) or gorillas. Have you ever watched monkeys in a zoo? They are so human like with a lot less class (well some humans anyway)

They have a sense when something is wrong. My cats are like that too. I just love them so much, as they are so affectionate and sweet.

I saw a show about it many years ago. Cats are smarter than dogs, and bees were way up on top of the list plus dolphins.

I agree that cats are smarter then dogs, even though I love both. Cats ignore you and are very strong willed and seem to know when it is safe to come for a pat, wheras dogs love you even if you don't feed them for a week (not that I would do that) My sister in law is having a hard time at the moment and her cat is acting very strangely, being very skitty at times and coming for lots of hugs. She seems to know things aren't right at home.

All the animals in the world are smart. Some of them are more inteligent than other. From all the animals the smartest one i consider to be the dog. It so easy to train and it has many many abilities which make me believe that he is the most smart animal. Good luck!

Any animal EXCEPT a cat....I mean look at this guy (his name is Mr. Boy). All he does is eat, sleep, and use the litter box. Then again he is smarter then me..I'm the one who puts a blanket on him, feeds him, and cleans out the litter box :(

I'm going to have to go with dolphins on this one. So, therefore, I would also have to then conclude that the smartest animals live in the sea. I already stated that I don't think it's dogs, cats or chimps.

I think it is hard to come up with an accurate answer on this because they are constantly changing facts, etc. about the animals. We are all still learning new things every day about earth and all the living things in it. I think it is fascinating because the world, etc. is so big, it is nearly impossible to discover everything! Just think how many mysteries are out there! Okay, I got off subject a little, sorry.
