My knee has been bothering me and I have went to the doctor and taken nerve pills, fluid pill etc. I talked with this older lady at my church and she told me to take two small paper bags, soak them in apple cider vinegar and lay them in a towel or one of those leg wrap things and wrap it around my knee. Ok, it worked. My knee no longer hurts! Have you heard of or tried any home remedies that someone grandma told you and it worked? If so, Id like to hear about it.

I went to a cosmetic party with my mom and my grandmother one time, they were selling a facial mask that tightened the skin and cleared the pores and reduces wrinkles. We were there for over an hour, testing and liking the product. My mother and I both bought it, while grandma sat silently watching. We were driving home, chatting about how wonderful the product was when grandma finally piped up, telling us that in her day, housewives would take the leftover egg whites while cooking and brush them on their faces for the same effect. HOLY cow, after reading the label, guess what? Yep, powdered egg whites. I didn't purchase any more.

I have used egg whites too. And the best one...Toothpaste on pimples. Crest works the best for me. Why spend all that money when you have this stuff in the kitchen.

I would suggest you to do Pranayama. If you do in this way, you will definitely be benefited. It has no side effect, no amount is required. It increases blood circulation in such part also where there it is low. Please try this one :To be done by closing the nostrils one after another, close the right nostril by the right hand thumb, and likewise close the left nostril by the 2nd and 3rd fingers (Madhyama and Anamika) fingers keep the palm of the hand in front just above the Nose. Method: Prana breathed in through left nostril represents energy of the moon, which symbolizes peace, and has a cooling effect. Hence for purification of Nadis (nerve/vein), beginning of this Pranayama has to be made by the left nostril. Close the right side nostril with the right hand thumb. Inhale slowly through the left nostril till the lungs are filled. Then close the left nostril with the second and third fingers. Open the right nostril and exhale through it. Repeat this exercise slowly in the beginning, and with practice, increase the speed. When you are able to practice this exercise for a long time, inhale with as much force as is possible for you, then exhale also forcefully. This practice of inhalation and exhalation alternatively through the right and left nostril, as indicated above with force, should be done for 3 minutes. If you feel tired, rest for sometimes and resume. Regular practice will enable you to do this Pranayama for 10 minutes. After some practice being established, this Pranayama should be done for 5 to 10 minutes daily, depending upon one’s capacity

When I was pregnant with my first child, I had morning sickness so bad that they were about to put me in the hospital because I was losing so much weight. My mom called yet another old lady from our church and she told her to heat some hot water in coffee cup and put a teaspoon of cinnamon and lime juice. Ok, i drunk this bitter stuff and didnt throw up anymore. It works.

Go to your local health food store and get some DMSO, the king that rolls on like a deodorant. First roll it on the bottom of your feet if that doesn't help rub it directly where it hurts, oh your DR. will pu-pu the idea if you tell him. My wife uses it and it works, as long as it's not reumatoid arthritis

I just read it from a book and I want to share it to you too. If you have a warts, you can use lemon with rind. Use band aid to cover the warts and leave it ther until it fall off. Do it everyday and after several days, you'll notice about it.

Glad your knee is better! When you first start with a cough you can try this recipe. It tastes quite nice and is very soothing for the chest. Mix about 2T honey, 2T lemon juice, 1 - 2t of vinegar, 2T sugar with hot water. Sip while still warm.

Yes I have, when we would get a wart on our finger my mom would take a piece of bacon rub it on it then make us take it out in the yard and burry it and when the bacon rotted away so did the wart.......You don't always have to go to the doctor.......

Growing up I was told that the vinegar and the paper bags helps with swelling. I have done that many of times and it works wonders. The weirdest thing I was told and have tried and worked. You know those insects that makes there nests out of dirt. Well, scrape one off and put it in a cloth diaper or a nicely thin cloth. Smash it up, til it's a powder. Make sure it's just the brown stuff. Tie up the cloth so the powder is still inside. You can use it on rashes, by dashing it on the rash itself. It will clear up a rash. And will stop itching.

I have read a whole book about Vermont Folk Remedies, which focuses on apple cidar vinegar and honey. One of the things it says is that it balances the trace minerals. I get a lot of "home remedies" from Prevention magazine, and other sources of alternative medical care. One I like is eating fresh (not canned ) pineapple for a sore throat. Horseradish helps fight upper respiratory infections, and if you do not like to eat it you can just breathe in the fumes.

Quick fix for a cold. 5-6 drops of nutmeg (jaiphal) paste (rub the nutmeg on a hardsuface adding a couple of droplets of water.) Similarly rub vigorously dried ginger. mix the two and apply on forhead and nose. Nutmeg can make you drowsy so dont take much of it.
