Autosurfs--- what exactly are they?

While looking for online ways to generate income, I came across a general term for an online method of earning a substantial amount of money-- autosurfs. I still couldn't get the gist of it. So, to all in here who have had experiences earning some money through autosurfs, could you help enlighten some of us who are interested in other ways of making money online? How exactly does it work?

Autosurfs are generally considered a kind of pyramid scheme and scam. Be careful as recently the US government has looked into their practices and several were shut down because the SEC/FBI determined them to be con jobs. To my knowledge there is no legit autosurf company.

Thanks, that's somewhat enlightening. Do you know anyone among your friends who has had personal experiences regarding those ones?

All I know is that I was looking into them my self a few months back when one of the major ones was shut down and StormPay, similar to PayPal but with less of a reputation, was forced by the government to freeze a lot of assets. PayPal will not hold accounts for autosurfs because they acknowledge them as ponzi schemes.

ponzi schemes? is it similar to autosurfs? or is it entirely different? hmm..slowly getting confused here. Could you please walk me through this, if it's not too much to ask?
