Have you been paid from some online programs?

There are some websites claiming to pay members who make contribution to the websites by reading their newsletters, attending the surverys they provid, registering to the websites they recommand, and clicking the Ads in their websites. I have thought that's a good idea to earn money online,because I spend much time online everyday. But finally I realized that it's not a easy thing! Has anybody been in those kinds of program? I have been in one of them two years before. That websites sent some emails to me every week, and what I needed to do was to visit the websites they recommanded in the mails and sign up as a member. But I quited after six months. Because there was only $20 in my accout while they would pay the member until they earn more than $100. Also the mails decreased as time passed, so the income rate went down greatly. I realized that it was not an easy thing to earn $100, so I gave up. I wonder if anybody has been paid by that kind of website? And I'll be grateful if anybody shares the experience of earning money online!
