india's corruption

I wasnt aware that india was corrupted... How is this so? What sort of corruption is prevalent in indian society? I know very little about indian culture, societ, economica but would be interested in hearing your views on why india is considered, by yourself, to be corrupt so that I may form an opinion and offer it to you...
