How to teach a child?

Is it better to teach one concept at a time? Like if you teach a child which is the right hand and do not tell him/her which one is the left hand you will do the child a BIG favour! If you introduce both the concepts at the same time, you can see on the road side daily people trying to change a punctured tyre my trying both ways! They are not sure that everyting opens anti-clockwise and closes clockwise! Most probably they have been introduced with both the concepts simulataneously! What do u say??
