Why do you use IMDB.com?

They have one of the worst designed/functional forums of all (there's no search for example), but - There are so much posters I get reply in the matter of minutes - It's suitable to promote movie type of site

I use the regular version. I mainly use it for looking up actors. I'll see someone in something and know I've seen them before, but won't remember where. So I just check IMDB to see what else they've been in. And I use it if someone mentions the name of a movie to me and I want more information on it.

IMDb free is enough for me. It helped me many times, because I can find a movie/serie there even when I only know a character's name. For example, I watched in my early teens an Italian serial from Finnish TV. I knew only the title in Finnish, and a character's (it was a ghost, by the way!) name: Lucia, and plot search did not help. And I found it! "Il segno del commando", with Ugo Pagliai, from 1971. I even could buy a CD, if I'd like to, but as much I understood there aren't copies with English or Geman subtitres available, and my Italian is far to be perfect.. (lol) And that's not only one, I have found many of my old favorites, just with one or two keywords.

Its just a fantastic resource. If its been made its on there. A great way to gain both user and expert opinions. Debate meanings and intentions of films. Get answers to questions that have been puzzling you and find really interesting info and trivia about films. I highly recommend it if your a film buff or if your just looking to find out if something your considering renting / watching is any good and what its about.

to get info on movies or to search fot upcoming ones or simple to see whats good and what to watch

I am a bit frantic with certain TV series and movies , so I mostly use Imdb to find references, actors who played where, it is always nice to have more information oabout movies, date of release.. or just to browse into the website, which is complete and accurate. I also use it as french man, the movie or series title are translate in the language i need ! For the pro version, mainly actors, producer and director might use it...that is my opinion..

I just use the free version. I go there a lot to check on actors, shows, movies...any time I have a question. It really comes in handy when I'm watching a show or movie and I know I've seen the actor someplace else. I can go look up where it was and go "OH yeah that's it" I also use it for trivia questions, quotes, to find out if movies are on DVD or not. It's a great resource.

It's a great start to look for some reviews on films you might wanna see. Mostly the score is fair enough..so that gives you an idea of how good it's gonna be..

I think imdb is useful for any movie lover. They have an immense archive of movies; past and present. It's also nice to read biographies of actors and you can even see what future project they are working at.
