Should you work Smarter or Harder?

Everyone used to tell me in my teen age to work hard. Hard work and hard work along is a key to suceess. Now my MBA class teaches me 'work smarter not harder'. Can u give your thoughts please??

in schools also, a smart answer provides u good marks...same holds in our job...work smartly and everybody will think u r working hard.
