How old should a girl be before she is allowed to wear make.Eye shadow lip gloss etc. Should they be 11,12 or 15,or16 you tell me. My little girl is 11 and wants to wear eye make up to school. Should I let her.

Saying no will make you sound tyrannical. As untrue as that would be. Start her off with something simple. Suprise her with a very natural lipgloss or maybe even a tinted chapstick. That way she doesn't feel like you're saying no and she's still able to feel more grown-up.

I think that is one of the problems she thinks she is grown now .But I guess 11 years old at today times is much older than I was in my day and time. me being 68 and all. Thanks for the advice,

around 12 is good if she wears it lightly.

Twelve and above should be alright. Now a days children grow so fast, at 12 when the make is done, she looks as if she is marriageable age.

I would say 11 is pretty young. Maybe just start letting her wear a tiny bit of makeup, like a little bit of lipgloss or something, and as she gets older let her wear a little more of something if she chooses. I advice you to let her wear a little now, otherwise she might go out of control with the makeup when she has more freedom.

My parent's rules were as follows: grade 7 & 8 (middle school here in Canada) I was allowed lip gloss and blush-applied with a light hand. Grade 9, I could incorporate mascara and foundation makeup. In my senior years, I could wear eye makeup (shadows) provided my mother accompanied me when I purchased them, and they were appropriate for my age group. (And again, applied lightly and naturally.) Although I think 11 is a bit young, a sparkly lipgloss or fancy nailpolish may be a compromise you both can feel comfortable with. BUT, as the parent, it is ultimately you decision. YOU have the final say.

My niece who is almost 10 years old asked me if I think she should wear make up to school. I told her that She dont need to wear make up until she is in high school or in college. She asked me why so I told her that when she get to my age, she have to wear make up and hide few places with make up so until then, she can just wait. She got a pretty skin so I told her that she dont need to put any jumk on her face. eye shadow on little girls looks ugly to me. But I think it up to you to decide. My parents didnt even let me talk about make up when I was 11 years old.

That's hard to say. I started wearing make-up at 16. But now society is changing so much. I would have to say atleast 13/14, when she is a teenager. My daughter is 13 months old. Hell by the time she gets to the make-up stage, girls will probably be wearing it at age 6. I think that children are just trying too hard to grow-up fast. Society has alot to do with it. Kids should just be kids and realize that beauty doesn't come with make-up.
