I love my family to bits - but I also appreciate my alone time... Maybe there is some kind of compromise?
If given the chance I would buy my family a huge house and move in to the huge house next door :)

Good point. I guess we go through moods and phases. There are times when I am traveling hundred percent for work and yearn to go back home and ofcourse a 2 week or 4 week vacation revives me enough to get back to my working life. Atleast, I have a chance to get out on my own - what about people who stay in the same place for 10 yrs with their families? I'm sure they have something different to say.

I prefer to be on my own but I visit family twice a week (or more) as they are in the same city and not very far from me. I guess we need space very much but by family I guess you mean parents, sisters, brothers, etc but wife and kids I would want to have and live with one day and would not prefer to be on my own forever :)
