Why do they always focus on death and disaster at christmas. why can't something nice happen for a change. i guess its normally quite comedy the way they do it though. although i think paulines death this christmas will be very gloomy. hopefully they won't focus on it too much. don't know any other christmas storylines.

paulines been in it that long that it will be a bit odd without her, but personally, I don't think I will miss her. wonder who will slot into her empty role. first there was lou beale, then pauline...who's gonna be the moaner now. maybe Ian? Even though I moan, I will still watch every episode and enjoy it! :P

Remember the Christmas when the Evans family went to the pub for awhile and when they came back, all their stuff was gone? lol at Nick and his son for stealing it all for Dot! There was a fire episode for Christmas, but don't remember where it happened....

Terrible acting on these things though - its what makes it laughable the way the media builds it up every year for it to be a complete flop. have to say i missed this years christmas episode as was on holiday - and wasn't i dissapointed!

They do generally have something disastrous going on around Christmas time but one of this year's Christmas storylines was really lovely - the one with Honey and Billy keeping little Janet instead of giving her up for adoption. What with the Pauline storyline that one seemed to have been forgotten...

I know that the last Christmas episode I watched was the one where Zoe had ran away from home. This time was also when Trevor raped Little Mo and erased Zoe's holiday message to her family. The good part was, that Kat went and got Zoe back while headbutting Roxy lol. That was funny when Roxy called Kat "Betty Boop". This was also when the turkey ran that Mo ordered ran away and Billy went around the square to find it.

generally though all the soaps have to make a big storyline
a) to compete with the other soaps
b) to keep people interested and well not be bored over the festive periods.
deaths usually are good for the soaps :)
nice things get boring :P

i think they do it cuz ever1 is together at christmas and sadness on a show makes people realize how much they have even if it is just family.... you feel sorry for anyone who has lost a family memeber or friend at christmas
