Was wondering if there are any Medieval History buffs out there. Years ago, I use to be part of a group called the Society for Creative Anachronism. This orgainization's objective was to "re-live the middle ages the way they were suppose to live." Entailing the idealogy, romance, and integrity, plus a little fantasy, that is commonly read in literature today. I've always wanted become involved again the organization, but due to my living arangements, and lack of support from family members, I have been unable to do so. Would be nice to talk to someone about these "good ol' days".

Hmmm...interesting. Did you do it to escape reality? Did it consume you? Interesting topic. :)

It was mainly an educational experience. Using technology of the time period, also there was alot of socialization. People would have persona's of different time periods from different cultures, plus we'd develope histories of our persona so that it would relate to the time period. The SCA had it's own college of heraldry, where each individual developed their own heraldic symbol, developed skills in the arts or sciences, and even start merchant connections.

The SCA is a national/international organization. If you enjoy things like the RenFest, but would also be more thrilled in being a participant rather than just an observer, then perhaps you might like to join up with the group. When I was in the SCA, there were only 5 Kingdoms in the United States and 2 international kingdoms. A kingdom is a regional district of the organization. Now, there are 19 worldwide! The State of Colorado is in the Kingdom of the Outlands, and the Kingdom of Artemisia. With the world being as high tech as it is now a days, they never had a website when I was involved, so if your interested for more information, here's the URL: http://www.sca.org/
