I think I am having boy/girl twins. I want to know is it true the boy is always bigger and he would move a lot more then the girl? Because my ultra sound at 15 weeks the girl was bigger and she moves much more then the boy.Any ideas, I'm a little worried about him.

I don't have girl/boy twins - I have non identical boy twins, but I used to work for the Australian Twin Registry and the rule about twins is that there are no rules. Sometimes the girl twin is bigger, sometimes the boy. Generally speaking, the firstborn twin will be bigger, and reach all the milestones first. So crawl first, pull themselves up first, walk first, talk first. Will usually be taller too. BUT that wasn't so with my twins. The only milestone the older twin reached first was talking - everything else the younger twin did first and he was and is bigger.
The time you have to worry is if you can't feel one or both of the twins move for several hours/a day. Sometimes they just don't have the room to move in there like one baby :) I'm sure yours will be just fone :)

I am having boy/girl twins in feb of 2007 and right now (at almost 8 months pregnant) the girl definitely has moved more in the previous 7 months, but right now it seems that the boy has taken over! Mine are sitting side by side facing each other on every ultra sound... and they haven't budged!

I have boy/girl twins and he was bigger than she was. He weighed 6lbs. 3.6oz. and she weighed 4lbs. 4.5 oz.. I do believe he moved around more than she did. He was on bottom, she was on top. When they did the exam on them when they were born they told me that he was full term and she was premature. How did that happen, I don't know. I had a c-section at 37 weeks because they said her heart beak was just a little weak from stress and not having enough room to move. So they both were 3 weeks early but they said he was 40 weeks developed and she was only 35. You are only 15 weeks though, so you might not have boy/girl. Are you sure? My friend has boy/girl twins also and her boy is bigger than her girl too. You might have boy/boy or girl/girl. Anyway good luck! It's great but it can be a handful at times.

thanks for your reply,I am now 20 weeks, and I still feel baby B (I think girl)move much more then baby A. So not %100 percent b/g twins.I just saw boy parts on one and not on the other. So when you had your ultra sounds at 15 or more weeks the boy was always bigger? How about the heart rate. was one always higher the the other? Sorry for all the questions. But I'm so curios of what they are. thanks so much in advance.

I am really not sure about this one. I have identical twin boys. They were moving around like they were playing soccer all day and night long! Talk to you doc and see what he/she says.

I had boy/girl twins, and my boy was bigger, but only by a few ounces. I think it depended on what position they were in as to who moved more, but I think they moved over all about the same. I would discuss it with your doctor, but I think you probably don't have to worry, if he hasn't brought anything up. It is always a good idea to discuss any concerns with your doctor when something doesn't feel right, especially with twins. Good luck with your babies.

Well congratulations! Have you connected with the NOMOTC? National Organization of Mothers of Twins Club (I think that's the name). Anyhow, I started there to get some information on twins and joined and get their newsletter. You can find a local twin club near you that way and connect with other parents of twins that way. My favorite helpful book was "How to have a healthy Twin Pregnancy"--there are a lot of books available on raising twins as well. Check out your local used bookstore or ebay for less expensive than new is my advice. I have identical twin girls and one always moved more than the other. She was the difficult one to find the heartbeat on while I was stuck in the hospital for seven weeks with them. She was baby "B" and smaller, and still is a little (one pound) smaller to this day. I think she had more room to boogie around since she was higher up and kicking her sister in the head most of the time! Anyway, best of luck and write down those questions for your doctor before any appointments to be sure he/she answers all of them before you leave. Ruth
