Do you like Joel Olsteen? What about other television evangelists?

For whatever reason, I've really taken to Joel and his preachings. I think he plays it safe by not taking a lot of controversial stances on a lot of the predominant relgious issues, but he seems to always have a good message (accompanied by scripture) that really hits home.
That said, I don't like most television evangelists as it sometimes seems like the monetary value is equally as important as their message to them (and that's a fine line - because maybe that value enables them to have a bigger congegration to speak their message to - I dunno).
What do you all think?

I agree to a certain extent. The evangelist shows that spend half of their time on air requesting donations make me really wonder if they are in it for the money or are they in it to pass us a Christian, scriptural message? Joel Osteen truly is an awesome minister and evangelist. I've read his book, "Your Best Life Now" recently, and what an awesome book it is! It touches on most every aspect of life in spiritual terms. An awesome read from an even more awesome minister!

I whole-heartily agree with you. I think Joel takes an approach that more evangelist should follow. He always seems completely genuine, and his messages can span over such a broad audience that it would be hard for me to envision many people not liking Joel and the messages he shares.

I believe Joel Olsteen is a gift to the body of Christ. He is a balanced preacher, and he doesn't come across as being "all about the benjamins."
When he talks about sowing, he mentions more than money. He talks about sowing good deeds, using your talents for the Lord. He is balance, and I love to tune into his messages. An ontime word with a little joke to get it started.
Kudus to Joel Osteen!

I'm reading his book right now and I'm certainly becoming a big fan of what Joel has to offer. Thanks for your response. It's good to see other people who can appreciate someone like Joel Osteen.

I haven't seen Joel Olsteen on TV. I have only seen him once and wasn't too impressed. I and som friends went to one of his meetings. Idon't remember much about it except that I thought he would never get to his sermon. I prefer Joyce Meyer She is funny as well as down to earth. She really is real She has been jelious She has told how she has resented her husband. she really is like me and knows how to handle it. Doug Batchelor is great for explaining the bible.

I think that it is true that a lot of evangelists do follow the money alot. But I really like Joel cause he speaks in todays language and he is so uplifting and I think we all need to be more positive with one another and build people up so they reach new hights. I love his accent and he always puts things in a funny but vey loveing manner. He is very enjoyable to listen to and read.
