I did the same myself. But one day I looked up all the superstitions there were in relation to weddings. If I was to heed them all I don't think I'd ever have left the house for the church. Apparantly it's bad luck for the bride to see an elephant or a chimney sweep if she's on the way to the church. It's bad luck if it rains. (It lashed on the day I got married.) It's also bad luck if you get married on a Saturday. (I did that too!)
Am I doomed do you think? :D

I don't really believe in superstition, but I always play safe. Before I got married, some people said, 'May you get the weather you deserve'. Well, it snowed on my wedding day, and the breeze almost whipped my veil from my head. I don't think I deserved this weather.

It snowed 3 feet on the day of my first marriage. Snow is a sign of fertility. I had 4 kids from this marriage.

I dont Know In which religion it is. But, Looks Good & funny also. If we doesn't believe this, we should atleast respect those who are doing this & we should Obey Them.

I don't think superstitions apply to any particular religion. I think some of them can be fun, but there are so many that I'd hate to be a superstitious person.

First marriage should be the last one, I did think of having another two wives but that would mean three Mother in Laws.
To be serious I've never really considered this at all although my wife wore the requesit things, old, new, borrowed & blue, and I didn't see her on our wedding day (at least before the wedding - did see her after the wedding) or see her dress. Everyone has some kind of superstition although not everyone realises that.

I think some of the superstitions about weddings are just hilarious... and fun, if you keep them in perspective and don't worry yourself about every little thing....
"A week before the wedding, it is considered good luck to have a cat eat out of your left shoe."
(What if you don't have a cat? Do you borrow one? Pardon me, you don't know me but may I please feed your cat from my shoe?)
"If a single woman sleeps with a piece of wedding cake under her pillow, she will dream of her future husband."
(and/or wind up with an ear full of frosting)
"The best man should ensure the good luck of the couple by not allowing the groom to turn back for any reason after starting out for the ceremony."
(This is more about ensuring good luck for the GROOM because if he turns back, the bride's gonna kill him)
"It's unlucky to have a widow at the wedding ceremony."
(Was I supposed to leave my mom at home???)
"The sneeze from a cat on a wedding day is said to foretell a happy marriage."
(Well, what other reaction is the cat going to have... I've been feeding it from a shoe!)
