After gay marriage, polygamy is next... and why not?

A lot of people argue against gay marriage by saying "well then, why not allow polygamy?" While there are PLENTY of gay marriage supporters who will explain "why not," I'm inclined to say... well, *why not?* Two friends of mine recently got married... which is to say, held a commitment ceremony, since they're women. But they've been together for over a decade. Another friend of mine was the equivalent of the "best man" for one of those two. And he'll be marrying her this summer. No doubt the "maid of honor" will in fact be the bride's wife. And I expect them all to be very happy together. These are two of the most stable and mutually supportive relationships I've seen in my circle of friends. So, again... why not?

ok this post has hints of the "Gay marriage is the beginning of all moral degredation" which is NOT true. I believe that marriage should be between TWO people either a man and a man, man and woman, or woman and woman. I believe that you should only be true to ONE person in your sacred vows of marriage. What has being gay to do with polygamy...GMAFB!!!!

I have to agree with you there..being gay has nothing to do with Polygamy!
